The fresh paint fair returns to spring and will be held on May 30 to June 4, 2023 in warehouses 2 and 3 in the Jaffa port. The fair’s exhibitions and extensive displays will be spread over the two new warehouses in the port of Jaffa, and in the municipal square connecting them, they will reveal the buildings to the general public for the first time and turn the spotlight on the regenerating Hipoian space.
The fair is held under the main sponsorship of the Phoenix Group and in cooperation with the Municipality of Tel-Aviv Jaffa and the municipal company ‘Atarim’. The CEO of Phoenix, Eyal Ben Simon, announced today at a press conference, “In Phoenix, culture is part of our heritage. About 25 gallery exhibitions and curatorial projects, special projects, social projects, as well as the performance strip will participate in the Fresh Color Fair 2023 fresh paint !LIVE. This year, 42 selected artists will participate in the independent artists’ incubator of the Fresh Color Fair.

Byrd will be awarded the Israel Makov Award to an artist from among the participants of the independent artists’ incubator as a mark of praise for significant artistic work, in which great potential is embodied for the rest of the way. The Israel Makov Prize will include a monetary grant of NIS 20,000 and a solo exhibition at the next Fresh Color Fair. The other two prizes are grants for the establishment of a solo exhibition in the gallery: the one inBarry Gallery and the second bKfar Saba municipal gallery. The exhibitions will be accompanied by a catalog.

Fresh design booths will present about 40 product designers, ceramics, paper and glass, furniture and lighting fixtures. The design incubator will include 8 male and female designers who were chosen by a committee that included the Teri design curators team. The designers will present and sell in the greenhouse items that express a commitment to sustainability and new materials. In addition, a fresh design will be established in the complex Living room of the container house– a hospitality space for meetings, conversations and lectures on design, sustainability, architecture and green construction, managed by the content of an association Get out of the boxin collaboration with Tambur.

Among the special projects this year, an invited work by the artist will be presented at the fresh color fair Jonathan Verdi In combination with software AI As part of a project in collaboration with BMW and with its support, a project will be presented in collaboration with Tolman’s and the PAPER COLLECTIVE company, which you will choose from the work of graduates of the work incubator or a series of works, which will be included in the company’s global collection of prints. The original works of the approximately 30 female and male artists, graduates of Fresh Color Fair incubators who were chosen to participate in the project by the fair’s curatorial team, will be displayed for sale, and Tolman’s will announce a work that will be awarded the title of crowd favorite.
Artist and curator Farid Abu Shakara will present an exhibition dealing with coexistence, combining works by contemporary Israeli and Palestinian artists, while curator Ella Cohen (Eclectic TLV) will present the exhibition DIALOG, which combines Russian and Ukrainian artists. In addition, the fair will present a socio-environmental project in the field of design: a meeting between the designer Maya Erzi and students from the fashion design department in Shankar, and women seeking asylum from the association “Mageli Sol”.
