The Frequency and Duration of Colds: Insights from a General Practitioner

General practitioner Alexey Khukhrev told us how many times it is normal to get a cold during the season, as well as how long the disease usually lasts.

According to him, you should consult a doctor if the cold does not go away after a few days, and the temperature only rises. “In general, a cold usually lasts around five to seven days,” the doctor said in an interview with “Moscow 24”.

Khukhrev noted that colds are caused by dozens of viruses, so there is no specific norm for the number of infections. “A person can get sick several times during a season. If he becomes infected with an adenovirus, then he will remain immune to it for some time. But this does not mean that a person cannot get sick from another respiratory virus,” the therapist explained.

Previously, doctor Khukhrev listed symptoms that may indicate nervous exhaustion.
