The French women’s tennis team on Wednesday ruled the champions of the Billy Gine King Cup (formerly the Federation Cup). The Russian tennis players had previously beaten the Canadian team 3-0, so they only had to score one point to reach the semi-finals, while the French tennis players had to win at least 3-0.

In the first fight, French tennis player Clara Burel won Ekaterina Alexandrov with 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, but in the second fight, Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavluchenko beat French athletes Alize Corne with 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. Russian tennis players with 6-2, 6-1 also won doubles, securing a place in the semi-finals.

“I am happy and proud of myself, because I think this was a very good match,” Pavluchenko said after the victory. “It was good tennis, but more importantly, we both really wanted to win and win that victory.”

The opponents of the Russian unit, with whom they will have to fight on Friday, have not been determined yet, as the matches in the other groups are still going on. The final of the tournament is scheduled for Saturday.

In the finals of 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2018, the Czech national team won, but in 2019, the French national team won. Previously, the tennis tournament was known as the Federation Cup, but last year the name was changed in honor of the famous tennis player Billy Gina King.
