Facebook remains the No. 1 in social networks
Regarding messaging and social networks, more than 8 in 10 French people used them at least once a month last year and their use has also intensified there.
And contrary to some popular belief, Facebook remains number one in the sector and even continues to grow: its number of monthly visitors increased by 3% to 45.2 million. Three other of its services (WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger) rank behind it in the top 10
the most used messaging and social networks in the country.
TikTok is in 9th place with 11 million monthly visitors, a jump of 273% but it is far behind Snapchat (23.4 million) which remains the network most used by young people.
Regarding young people (15-24 years old), they are by far the most fond of social networks: they spend three times more time on them than all French people (2 h 12 per day against 45 minutes).
Finally, Médiamétrie noted the growing appeal of alternative messaging services, in particular Discord, which recorded 7.9 million monthly visitors.
