The Association du Souvenir français de Bordeaux, which disappeared for several years, is operational again
After having disappeared for several years, the French Remembrance Committee of Bordeaux was recreated at the end of 2020 at the instigation of the former general delegate of Gironde and the current delegate, Damien Dufrenot and Dominique Perrichon.
The new board is made up of Sébastien Feugnet, president; Rodolphe Marras, vice-president and secretary; Jean-Baptiste Michon, treasurer. This new committee is an integral part of the Association du Souvenir Français, which now has 23 committees in Gironde. On a national level, the association was founded in 1887 and recognized of public utility on February 1, 1906.
Its three main missions are to preserve the memory of those who died for France, to maintain the monuments raised in their memory and to pass on the torch of remembrance to successive generations, in particular by participating in the financing of educational outings on old people. battlefields or concentration camps.
