The French company La Compagnie lands between Milan and New York from April

The French airline is targeting northern Italy. It will provide flights between Milan and New York from April, entirely in Business at the pace of a private jet, but at lower costs.

Ready for take-off from April 15, La Compagnie’s Airbus A321 neo will fly from Milan Malpensa to New York (Newark), with 5 flights per week. On board, only 76 seats and only in business, at unbeatable prices: from 1,500 euros round trip, i.e. approximately 15 to 20% less than its competitors, and up to 72% than the most expensive, according to the rates announced by La Compagnie.
Born in 2014, the French airline was launched to connect Europe to New York with accessible fares for those who travel especially for business.

The choice of Milan, third airport after Paris and Nice

Milan is thus added to the previous connections from Paris-Orly airport (five times a week) and Nice (twice a week from May to September).
The choice of Milan is strategic for La Compagnie. “The Milan – New York line is the third busiest transatlantic line in business class after London and Paris, and therefore interesting from a potential point of view. Moreover, Milan, the capital of design, fashion and luxury, corresponds well to the positioning of La Compagnie, which has a 100% business product”, explains Christian Vernet, director of the French company.

Customers benefit from a service similar to that of a private jet. Few seats on board – 76, divided into 19 rows -, recent films to choose from on an interactive 15-inch, a channel dedicated to meditation, noise-canceling headphones provided, a kit of Caudalie creams, wine therapy expert, but also fast wifi and all accessible usb sockets to plug in its devices. On the menu, dishes studied by the French chef Christophe Langrée, served on porcelain dishes, accompanied by Champagne and organic wines. A trip of 8 to 9 hours, traveled in ergonomic and fully reclining seats.

Less polluting Airbuses

The Company also prides itself on paying particular attention to the environment. In 2019, it was the first to introduce the Airbus A321neo, with larger and quieter engines, but above all saving 30% fuel.

This type of aircraft could in principle fly to Linate airport, located closer to the center of Milan. “Linate is obviously interesting for us, just like Orly for Paris. But today, the Milan airport does not allow international departures to the United States. If the SEA were to change the rule, we would be the first to be interested”, adds Christian Vernet.

In France, La Compagnie has an agreement with Easyjet, allowing travelers to take a single ticket to take a low-cost flight from a French city to Orly and then take the intercontinental La Compagnie flight. The same agreement, already in place with Milan Malpensa airport and other Italian cities, will be operational in the spring.
