The Free Market beats the Tutelato for the electricity tariffs

From 1 October, electricity tariffs have recorded a leap forward reaching the levels prior to Covid. The Arera tracked the rebound in energy tariffs. The expected increase for a family is 15.6%. The staff of ProiezionidiBorsa, using the Selectra SQ Index, noted that the Free Market beats the Tutelato for electricity tariffs. Indeed, the Selectra SQ Index monitors energy prices. To date, the Free Market allows savings of up to 50% of the cost of the electricity bill, for the energy component, compared to the Protected Market.

Why does the bill increase with the Protected Market?

The energy component is made up of several items. For this reason it is right to clarify. The expenditure on the energy component is not equal to the amount that consumers find themselves in their bills. This item changes according to the supplier while the rest of the other items in the bill are established by the Authority. The reason for the increase in bills is due precisely to the energy component. The price variation from October has grown by 88%.

What the Selectra Index says

Since 1 October, electricity prices on the Free Market have been on average 15% lower than those of the Greater Protection Service. With the most convenient offers on the Free Market, savings on the energy component reach 50%.

Free Market when will it be mandatory?

Fifteen million Italian families still have households connected to the Protected Market. The law provides that the mandatory transition to the Free Market will take place by January 2022. Domestic consumers, in view of the deadline, are starting to consider the benefits. Users are continuously informed about the opportunities offered by the Free Market but do not make the switch. To date, therefore, the Free Market beats the Tutelato for electricity tariffs. Savings are guaranteed and within reach. Just choose only the energy supplier which offers the best contractual conditions.
