The free beach on the Danube in Dunakesz is waiting for its guests again in its full glory! – Danube Bend Region

The year 2024 was a challenge for the beach, as the Danube was hit by several large and small tidal waves in the past months, the largest of which occurred in August. The flood didn’t cause much damage, but a lot of work was done on the beach: the buffet containers were emptied, the playgrounds were restored with thorough cleaning and disinfection, and sand was also replaced for safety the children. . The entire area of the beach had to be cleared of knee-deep muddy deposits to make the environment safe and orderly again.

At the beginning of November, the restoration work was finally completed, and the buffets were returned to their usual place. The playgrounds are now completely safe, so everyone is welcome. Although the swimming season is over, it is still worth visiting the open beach in autumn and winter. The fresh air on the Danube, the sunny autumn days, and the tidy park environment are the perfect place for a family walk, hot coffee or tea, or maybe lunch with friends. For the children’s enjoyment, the Ornithological Path and the beach playground can be visited again, where the little ones can play safely, protected from traffic.

In the period from autumn to spring, visitors with dogs are warmly welcome, as our four-legged pets can enjoy the beach for free at this time. The water of the Danube does not scare many dogs, so they can safely go in for a short swim!

We hope that we will not have to fight with the natural elements in the near future, because this year has proven again, regardless of the work we do in restoration , that the Danube always reminds us who is the true master of the country. Regardless, we warmly welcome you at Dunakeszi Duna Szabadstrand – whether you come with family, friends or dogs. Enjoy the closeness of nature, walk among the yellow leaves and recharge your batteries on the beautiful shores of the Danube.
