The Fourth Edition of the Mini Football World Cup Begins in the UAE

Abu Dhabi, 25 October / WAM / The competitions of the fourth edition of the Mini Football World Cup, which is being held for the first time in the Middle East, hosted by the UAE, will start tomorrow, from October 26 to November 4.
The tournament, which is held every two years, witnesses the participation of 32 teams distributed into 8 groups, with 4 teams in each group, with the first two teams qualifying for the knockout rounds, which include the round of 16, the quarter-finals, then the semi-finals, and the final match.
The opening ceremony will be held tomorrow on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, in the presence of a number of officials from FIFA, the World Federation of Mini-Football, and ambassadors of participating countries.
The UAE national team will open its participation in the tournament by facing its Indian counterpart at ten in the evening, while the competition will witness 7 other matches at different times since nine in the morning, and the Mexican national team, the “defending champion,” will face the Irish national team, Guatemala will play against Georgia, Egypt will play against Kuwait, and America will play against Spain. Kazakhstan with Ghana, Romania, Bahrain, Ukraine and Algeria.
Jassim Al-Bahri, the technical director of the UAE national team, stressed that holding the tournament for the first time in the Middle East enhances the chances of spreading the game in the country, especially as it provides a good opportunity for the participation of national players, highlighting their talents and participating in the ranks of the national team in international competitions.
He explained that the final list of the team includes 17 players who were selected after participating in the “Mini Football” tournament in Dubai last September with the participation of 16 teams, and we have great confidence in their abilities, to demonstrate the advanced technical level in the opening match against the Indian team.
He added: We are looking forward to achieving good results in the group stage to ensure qualification to the next round. Our first group includes the teams of India, Ghana and Kazakhstan, and the first participation in the World Cup represents a great motivation for establishing special teams for the game in clubs.
