American football is an extreme contact sport. where some of the most spectacular injuries in the world of sport have occurred. In this team game two teams face each other to score 6 points in the touchdown zone. The National Football League (NFL for its acronym in English) is the most important international league and the highest reference of this sport in the world.
Being a contact sport, there have been endless injuries and blows that have forced the creation of protective equipment such as helmets and shoulder pads to protect practitioners of the sport from blows.
Similarly, the NFL has created and modified rules so that the sport is as healthy as possible without leaving sequels or repercussions of injuries to players who step on a grid. However, these measures or the protective equipment have not been able to prevent the injuries from persisting, nor the integrity of the players from being compromised at some point.
This time we will talk about the 4 worst recent injuries in the NFL.
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys.
On October 11, 2020, Dallas Cowboys Quarterback (QB), Dak Prescott, on a run at the time of being tackled, suffered a dislocated ankle during the game that forced him to retire for the rest of the season. The player returned to the field in 2021 after two surgeries.
Kyle Allen, Washington Commanders.
On November 7, 2021, Kyle Allen, the QB of the Washington team, had a fracture and dislocation of his left ankle after a tackle attempt by Jabrill Peppers with which Allen’s leg was levered.
Juju Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh Steelers.
The star receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers suffered an injury after a tackle to his right shoulder that required surgery, ruling him out of the 2021 season.
Jeremy Lane, Seattle Seahawks.
This player after intercepting a pass to Tom Brady tried to return the ball until he was tackled by Julian Edelman. To cushion his fall, the player dodged the tackle, however, when he fell he fell on his wrist and could not return to the Super Bowl game.
