“I’ve been working hard this year and I’m looking forward to putting everything into it. We have a great group of riders and I can’t wait for the battle in Copenhagen to start,” said Froome on the team’s website, which he will add to the Tour other veterans Jakob Fuglsang from Denmark and Canadian Michael Woods.

Froome will perform on the Tour for the second time since a serious accident at the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2019, which almost ended his career. Last year, a native of Nairobi finished the “Old Lady” in 133rd place in the overall standings with more than a four-hour loss to the winner, Tadeje Pogachar.

At the end of May, Froome finished 11th in the one-day Classic Alpes-Maritimes race, but had to resign from the Criteria two stages before the end due to illness. The goal of the Israel Premier Tech and Froomea team, which dominated the Tour in 2013, 2015-17, will be to win one of the stages in the three-week race.
