The four seasons singer and guitarist Tommy DeVito passed away

Tommy DeVito, singer, guitarist and co-founder of the American band The four seasons, passed away on Monday at the age of 92. Frankie Valli, the frontman who, together with DeVito, was at the basis of the group, reports this on Twitter. DeVito had been admitted to a hospital near Las Vegas, the newspaper reports Las Vegas review-journal. According to the newspaper, DeVito had contracted the corona virus.

In the 1960s, The Four Seasons was one of the few groups that could compete with The Beatles. They are known for hits such as ‘Big girls don’t cry’, ‘Walk like a man’ and ‘December 1963 (Oh what a night)’.

In the 1950s DeVito was already active in various groups, eventually founding The four seasons together with Francis Castelluccio. Castelluccio later allowed himself to be called Frankie Valli.
