After the question of the 11 blue MPs about the red loans, there has been concern and great movement within the ruling party. The prime minister and the “front line” executives are taking initiatives hoping that maybe… the gap will be bridged. In this context, the “round tables” of ministers and parliamentarians are included, with the aim of calming the climate.
In reality, the meetings scheduled to take place with Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the beginning of October will hardly reverse the bad climate that prevails in the ND KO.
What are MPs afraid of?
A very important reason for the grumbling that prevails within the “blue” KO is that dozens of MPs know that the risk of not being re-elected is becoming more visible than ever, as long as the political deterioration continues. After all, dozens of MPs and beyond the 11 who asked the question about the bad loans, claim that they are under a lot of pressure in their constituencies from the citizens. Issues such as accuracy make everyday life unbearable for citizens. At the same time, the reduction in rates increases the internal competition between the blue-collar executives. Already in the background there is loud grumbling about people “self-presenting” as candidates for the next national elections, causing a headache for the incumbents.
“Key” the role of Karamanlis – Samaras after the European elections
Also, another factor that weakens Kyriakos Mitsotakis even more is the role of the two former prime ministers and presidents of the ND, Kostas Karamanlis and Antonis Samaras. The event held by the two former prime ministers at the war museum (1/7), after the European elections, freed dozens of MPs of the ruling party, who disagree with Maximos’ strategic choices. From the speeches of Karamanlis-Samaras, it appeared that the gap with the current prime minister is very large, as the two former prime ministers destroyed all Mitsotakis’ strategic choices.
The eyes on the election of the new PtD
One of the most critical issues that the Samaritan wing has emphatically raised is to elect a person from the “broader center-right faction” to the presidency of the Republic. Until this particular issue is closed, it is almost impossible to stop the internal confrontations. In fact, it is the most difficult case for Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as he has to find a point of balance, where all the blue groupings are “pleased”. The only thing that is certain is that in the coming months, not only will there be no “calmness” within the blue faction, on the contrary, the indications show that the differences between several MPs will intensify. After all, as Euripides Stylianidis had said, “we are staying at home is over, after the European elections”.
