Member of the Political Council of the Free Patriotic Movement, lawyer Wadih Akl, tweeted on his account via the “X” platform (formerly Twitter), writing: “When the financial collapse appeared, society was divided into four classes: Financial mafia: It worked to cover up the continuous looting since the war Supported by the media of bribes, opening the air 24/24 with the aim of “cheating” depositors. A mafia relies on a group of decomposed analysts, politicians, judges, security and spiritual conspirators and beneficiaries, blocking roads, closing institutions and sabotaging.
He added, “The groups of insignificant people: repeating my parrot, the pots, my pee is stronger than your beck, insults and a lot of “organized insignificance” about militias, their parties and their electronic armies.”
And he continued, “The opportunists: individuals and institutions took advantage of the collapse with the aim of private benefit, disregarding the rights of their countrymen. They carried out speculation, smuggling, support, and achieved illegal enrichment.”
And he added, “Reformists: Under the leadership of President General Michel Aoun, since the spring of 2019, serious work has begun to hold accountable and address the crisis. We met with other reformers in Lebanon, abroad, and abroad, to converge on the project regardless of the political difference.”
And he continued, “So it would be a professional national team that achieved the following results: a preliminary report for criminal audit, accounting and prosecution of the criminal mafia treasurer Riad Salameh and his gang, allegations of international arrest warrants, the imposition of the bank secrecy law, the Lazard rescue project (which was sabotaged in Parliament.”
He pointed out, “For four years, we exerted all efforts, despite the power of the mafia and despite the coup attempts, pressures, and subversive media funding… and for the first time in 50 years we succeeded in breaking the chain of impunity and opening a window of hope for a better future.”
And he concluded, “Note: Our scientific and legal work against the corrupt makes it difficult for the “petty” to understand. Therefore, beware of these people because they are the “opposite” of the reformist patriots!
