The founder of fashion brand Kenzo died of the corona virus

Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada died of the corona virus on Sunday. He was 81 years old. A spokesman reports that. Takada worked from Paris for almost his entire career, from where he made his fashion house Kenzo world famous.

Right in Paris fashion week, the French capital loses one of its greats. Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada lost the battle to Covid-19. In 1965, the founder of the fashion brand Kenzo arrived by boat in Marseille. From there he moved to Paris, where he originally intended to stay only a short time. He never left. Close to Paris, in the hospital of Neuilly-sur-Seine, he died on Sunday.

Takada launched its first collection in 1970 and continued under the brand name ‘Kenzo’ six years later. The name would soon become world famous. In 1993 he sold that brand to the French luxury conglomerate LVMH, and in 1999 he retired from the world of fashion. Now and then he made himself heard with various projects.

Takada was born on February 27, 1939 in Himeji, near Osaka.
