The founder and owner of the Telegram application, Pavel Durov, was arrested by the French special services in Paris at Bourget airport. This was reported by the TV channel TF1.
The 39-year-old Durov was accompanied by a bodyguard and a woman. He landed in Paris on his private plane from Azerbaijan.
A French search warrant is issued by the French National Inspection Department. Durov was arrested.
Authorities want to clarify Durov’s interaction with the Kremlin and question him about wiretapping Macron’s manager through the secure Telegram network.
TF1 claims that terrorism, drugs, fraud, money laundering, pedophile content are among the possible charges.
Durov was arrested, facing 20 years in prison. A source close to the case tells the TV channel that Durov will be charged with several crimes and crimes against which he did not raise a finger.
