The Merzhausen community foundation has a positive balance: the foundation’s assets have increased and around 2,600 euros have been distributed, according to a press release. The foundation, founded in 2019, can look forward to an increase in its assets from 800 euros to 75,900 euros, as Marc Winsheimer, managing director of the Citizenship Foundation of the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau as sponsor, reported at the meeting of the Council of Foundation. In addition, 6,840 euros were raised through 49 individual donations, which are spent on local charities. Due to the pandemic, the foundation’s activities have recently been limited, according to Fritz Heidland, chairman of the community foundation’s board of directors. However, the Hexentäler children’s kitchen was supported by the purchase of the kitchen equipment with 2000 euros and the welcome of the new citizens of the community was helped. The foundation also manages the funds of the dissolved Hildegard-Haussmann-Verein in the amount of 8991 euros.
