The Forum on the 2022 Study Program and Socio-Critical Methodologies: Fostering Quality Education in Tabasco

Villahermosa, Tab., June 22, 2023 – The Secretary of Education of the State of Tabasco (SETAB), Egla Cornelio Landero, inaugurated the forum “My experience with the 2022 Study Program and Socio-Critical Methodologies” today. The forum aims to bring together educators in the field of initial and preschool education to share their experiences and reflections on the implementation of the new educational model.

In her opening remarks, Landero emphasized the importance of guaranteeing the right to education from the earliest years of a child’s life. She stated that by providing quality education, we are not only shaping individuals with values and principles but also benefiting families and society as a whole. Landero also highlighted the significance of the new educational model in empowering students to become critical thinkers and owners of their own knowledge.

The forum provides a space for educators to reflect on the achievements and challenges of implementing the 2022 Study Program and Socio-Critical Methodologies in preschools across the state. Yadi Noemí Hernández Peralta, the head of the Technical-Pedagogical Department of the Directorate of Initial and Preschool Education, explained that the forum aims to foster collaborative learning and sharing of best practices among teachers.

Several educators and experts participated as speakers in the forum. Preschool teachers Natividad Guadalupe Guzmán Córdova, María de los Ángeles Carrera Pérez, Eva Fernanda Martínez Carrillo, Yadira Ramos Sánchez, and Patricia Bautista Suárez shared their experiences and insights on implementing socio-critical methodologies in their classrooms. Additionally, Miguel Ángel Escalante Cantú, the director of the Institute of Higher Education for Teachers (IESMA), discussed the importance of the teacher’s role in the educational process, while María de los Ángeles Ramos Cerino shared her managerial experience in the construction of the analytical program.

The forum serves as a platform for educators to exchange ideas, learn from each other’s experiences, and further enhance the quality of preschool education in Tabasco. Through collaborative efforts and continuous professional development, the education system in the state aims to provide a solid foundation for children’s learning and development.
