In the month of July, the Grand Fund of New York (GFNY) franchise route competition will return to Costa Rica after two years of not being held due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In its third edition in the country, the event will take place on Sunday, July 3 in La Fortuna, San Carlos and will have a participation of 600 cyclists.

The event will have 2 modalities, a competitive long distance of 150 kilometers and a recreational medium distance of 90 kilometers, both in route mode.
The Gran Fondo route will take place between La Fortuna de San Carlos and Tilarán bordering Lake Arenal.
The participants of the long distance will compete in eight categories, general and by age ranges in female and male, and prizes will be awarded to the first three places in each one. In addition, the winners of the competition in pairs will be awarded.
The top 10% of finishers in each age group will qualify for the Corral Racer at the GFNY World event held in New York City each year.

This race comes to join the reactivation of the pedal sport which has been experiencing growth both worldwide and in the country.
Registration costs $195 until May 31, by June 1 it will increase, and can be done by going to https://costarica.gfny.com.
The package includes the official jersey of the event, medal, number, timing chip, medical insurance, medical assistance, mechanical assistance and premium assistance during the route in which there will be five stations with food and drinks.
