Indonesian men’s doubles Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan reveal the key behind the success of stepping into the final All England 2023.
Ahsan/Hendra made their way to the top of the party after going through a dramatic match against Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang at Utilita Arena Birmingham, Saturday (18/3). The Daddies had to go through three game battles with a score of 21-15, 19-21, 29-27.
Ahsan/Hendra even fought fiercely in the third game against Liang/Wang. Victory was secured after securing the sixth match point in the match in game three.
“Of course we thank God for winning today’s match. The opponent played very well, it was not easy for us,” said Ahsan in a PBSI release.
“We try to keep performing optimally at those critical points. We don’t know who will win, we just try and thank God we can win,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Hendra said that emotional control was also the key behind successfully qualifying for the All England final for the fourth time with Ahsan.
“In the third game, the coach reminded us to set the tempo of the game. Don’t keep going too fast, because the tighter we play, the tighter they get. It’s important to take care of and control their emotions,” he said.
“The hope is definitely for the All Indonesian Final but Fajar/Rian haven’t played yet. So hopefully it will come true.”
