LeBron’s eldest son James Bronnie was considered one of the most talented basketball players of the new generation. At the upcoming draft in 2024, he was predicted to be the first place, and the basketball player himself said that he dreams of playing with his father on the same NBA team.
However, most recently, James Jr. experienced a cardiac arrest and can now end his adult career at the very beginning of his journey. Recent sensational revelations in the press hint that it could be doping.
And LeBron himself took it too!
Sudden cardiac arrest
From early childhood, Bronnie was involved in sports: hockey, football, and basketball. But LeBron was against most of his son’s hobbies: he saw his future only in basketball. As a result, he got into the Miami City Ballers club and followed in the footsteps of his star father.
Now Bronnie represents the student team of the University of Southern California and takes the first steps at the adult level. Until recently, many North American experts believed that the 18-year-old athlete would be selected with the first number in the upcoming NBA draft. However, the sporting future of the guy is now a big question.
During the training of the team, which took place at the rhythm familiar to the players, Bronnie suddenly had a heart attack. The medical staff of the club immediately provided first aid to the young man, and then he was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. James Jr. was already fully conscious, and nothing threatened his life. The basketball player was placed in the intensive care unit, and after a couple of hours he was transferred to the regular one.

Bronnie quickly recovered from what had happened. He was discharged from the hospital, but it’s too early to talk about returning to training: doctors are trying to figure out the cause of cardiac arrest.
Do the Jameses dope?
Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen put forward his version of what happened. He believes that Bronnie, like his father, uses illegal substances.
Sonnen himself confessed to doping during his professional career. This spring, the ex-athlete revealed that LeBron was using a performance enhancer, a substance called erythropoietin (EPO). It increases the number of red blood cells, which increases endurance. The fighter claims that he and LeBron had one supplier of the necessary drugs – hence the information.
Bronnie Sonnen also attributed the cardiac arrest to EPO use.
– If you do not properly control the use of erythropoietin, then cardiac arrest may occur and the person may die in his sleep. If you have a cardiac arrest in front of other people, then there is a good chance that you will get help in time and survive. Problems can also arise due to the use of EPO along with testosterone. I hope we learn from what happened,” Sonnen wrote on social media.
The star basketball player and his son have not yet commented on Sonnen’s words. Perhaps this is just a sketch: after all, over the years of his professional career, LeBron had a clean reputation. On the other hand, the NBA could have hushed up the case of its main star, given that recently the league does not even punish soft drugs.
