The former Titoulet before the Prud’hommes: response on February 15

A second hearing was held this Tuesday before the Labor Council of Saint-Etienne. 67 former employees of the Loire Offset Titoulet printing plant dispute the origin of their 2019 layoffs.

The largest printing plant in the department, Loire Offset Titoulet, closed its doors almost three years ago, at the start of 2019. 134 employees were then made redundant, before occupying their company for more than 3 months. This Tuesday morning, in front of the Labor Council of Saint-Etienne, they again demand that light be shed on the origin of their layoffs : “the leaders of this viable company did the opposite of what they needed to do to keep it alive, says François Dumoulin, lawyer for the employees of Loire Offset Titoulet. VSIt was not the economic difficulties that led to their dismissals“.

Answer on February 15

The debates lasted nearly 2:30 on Tuesday morning. The former employees of Titoulet were mobilized from 9 am in front of the court. Some have found work, others are still in the Pôle Emploi box, but all prefer to remain anonymous. “We must not forget that the Saint-Etienne basin has lost 60 years of know-how“, says CGT representative Yannis Paraskavaidis. The decision is due on February 15 and if the Prud’hommes do not recognize an error in the dismissals, the former employees will appeal.
