On the 6th of this month, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred on the border between Turkey and Syria. As of today (18th), more than 43,000 people have died. Among them, the former Premier League football star Christian Atsu, who lost contact after the disaster, was finally found after 12 days, but what was found was a cold body at the age of 31.

According to multiple foreign media reports including the Daily Mirror, former Premier League Newcastle United football club (Newcastle United) Ghanaian star Atsu, unfortunately lost contact after the strong earthquake. His agent Secchere revealed on the 14th of this month that the search and rescue unit had found Atsu’s room and recovered his 2 pairs of shoes.

Just 12 days after Atsu lost contact, his other agent Murat (Murat Uzunmehmet) posted on Twitter, confirming that Atsu was unfortunately killed in the earthquake and is currently Rescuers have recovered his body from the rubble and are continuing to dig out his personal belongings.

In fact, Atsu joined the Turkish Super League Hatayspor in September 2022, and had originally thought of leaving the Turkish League. However, in a match against Kasimpasa on the 5th of this month, he successfully scored a free kick for the team in the 97th minute, helping the team take the lead and making him change his mind , decided to continue to fight in Turkey, but tragedy happened unexpectedly.

After Murat’s post was exposed, Atsu’s old club Newcastle also followed up and released the news of his death. Afterwards, a large number of fans and netizens flooded in, expressing their condolences through messages, “He is kicking into life. Went to heaven after the last goal”, “We lost a great football player, thank you for your past efforts and hard work”, “May your soul find peace in heaven”.
