A cassation appeal against the decision against the former was filed again Colonel Zaur Mirzoev, accused of filming and distributing intimate videos in the office premises of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM).
According to pravda.az, the complaint will be considered in the Supreme Court at a trial chaired by Judge Nazim Movsumov.
A preliminary court preparatory hearing is scheduled for October 30.
It should be noted that the Baku Serious Crimes Court sentenced Z. Mirzoev to 3 years and 6 months in prison. According to the civil suit, the victim was provided with 4,000 manats. Both the ex-colonel and the victim filed appeals against the verdict. The woman was dissatisfied with the fact that only a small part of the civil claim she filed in the amount of 192,000 manats was satisfied, as well as with the punishment imposed on Z. Mirzoyev. She demanded a change in the verdict of the trial court and a tougher punishment, as well as payment of the full amount. The Baku Court of Appeal did not satisfy the complaint.
Let us remind you that Z. Mirzoev was detained on August 17, 2022. By a court decision, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him. He was charged under articles 156.2.1 (violation of privacy committed by an official using his official position), 242 (illegal distribution of pornographic materials or objects) and 309.2 (abuse of official powers) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the indictment, Z. Mirzoev, using a special program on his work computer, installed a hidden camera and filmed intimate relationships with women in his office. In August 2022, illegally pornographic materials he prepared were distributed on social networks.
