We were to meet the new coach of the Polish team on Wednesday, January 19, after the meeting of the PZPN board office. We have not met. President Kulesza has apparently already agreed the terms of the contract with Adam Nawałka, but how informs “Przegląd Sportowy”, he left himself time for reflection and an open door to employ another trainer. On the list of the most serious candidates apart from Nawałka, there are Michał Prukaj and Andrij Shevchenko.
The behavior of president Kulesz is surprised by many experts and fans, but Jacek Bąk believes that we should give the president time and believe that he will choose the best available option. According to the former representative, the most important thing is that the choice is the Polish coach.
– I know the president Kulesza. I know he will want to choose the best trainer. We have to trust him. I don’t know if he wants to leave the gate open now or not. For me, the most important thing now is that he should choose a Polish coach. Everything indicates that it will be Adam Nawałka, but I am not in Cezary Kulesza’s head, so I cannot be sure – said the former footballer of the French Ligue 1.
According to Bąk Nawałek is currently the best candidate. In his opinion, the Biało-Czerwoni know very well what to do on the pitch and they do not need any revolutions now.
– It seems to me that Adam Nawałka is the right candidate because he knows this staff. Michał Prukaj is also a good coach, but he has never had a representation. It seems to me that we cannot make too big changes now, reshuffle, confuse players in players’ heads. They know what to do – argued the former kadrowicz.
According to Jacek Bąk, employing another unproven coach from outside our country would be a disastrous solution. – This would be the biggest problem of a foreign coach. He would mess the players’ heads. And the match with Russia is very important to us and we don’t have time to do any experiments. For some strange trainer, which was Sousa – you have to count on the fact that we will not find one more – continued Jacek Bąk.
We also asked the former team member if he thought that if Nawałka became the manager, he should receive a contract longer than just for the upcoming play-off matches for participation in the World Cup in Qatar.
– I don’t focus on it. Now the most important thing is that we win the game in Moscow and play the play-off final at home. And who will be the selector then? Probably most of us would like to bet on a Pole. Our coaches work only in their own backyard, but such a selector is better than employing some irresponsible coach like Sousa – said the former team member.
Bąk summarizes the whole soap opera with the selection of a new selector very briefly. – The best ending to this story will be when we win the first play-off against the Russians in Moscow. And is the attitude of the Polish Football Association a good way? I hope so … Let me just say that I am counting on the Polish coach – said the 96-time Polish representative.
At the moment, it is not known exactly when we will know the name of the new selector. There are just over two months left to the first World Cup qualifying match. On March 24, Biało-Czerwoni will play in Moscow with the Russian national team.
