Indonesia has created a task force to address issues caused by foreign tourists in Bali. The task force will include elements from Bali Police, the Public Order Agency and Balinese traditional security officers. There are three main priorities for the task force: inappropriate behaviour on Bali’s roads, illegal businesses operated by tourists and issues with stay permits. Vice Governor Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati admitted that it will be impossible for the task force to immediately cover the whole island, so it will prioritize Nusa Penida, Ubud and Sanur for now. The latter has already had numerous reports of foreigners creating their own neighborhoods that are exclusively for foreign residents and have been putting up fences.
