The Formation and Importance of the Sun: A NASA Explanation

GORAJUARA – The sun is a yellow dwarf star that is 4.5 billion years old.

The sun is shaped like a ball of hydrogen and helium that shines hot at the center of the solar system.

The Sun is about 150 million kilometers from Earth, where it is the only star in our solar system.

Without the sun’s energy, life like on Earth would not be able to continue as it should.

However, have you ever asked how the Sun was initially formed and what is the shape of its surface?

Let’s look at the following explanation from NASA.

Reporting from science.nasa.gov by GORAJUARA, the Sun formed about 4.6 billion years ago in a giant rotating cloud of gas and dust called the Solar Nebula.

At that moment, the Nebula collapsed due to its own gravity.

Because of this, it spins faster and flattens to form a disk.

Then, most of the Nebula’s material was pulled towards the center to form the Sun which accounts for 99.8 percent of the mass of our solar system.

Most of this remaining material formed the planets and other objects that now orbit the Sun.
