Natural phenomena total lunar eclipse or also known as the Super Blood Moon occurs today, Wednesday (26/5/2021) evening. What does it look like from Dieng?
Observations of the total lunar eclipse from Dieng were carried out by the Geophysical Station of the Banjarnegara Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG). To be precise, the observations were made from the Arjuna Temple complex in the Dieng plateau.
Head of BMKG Banjarnegara Geophysics Station Setyoajie Prayoedhie explained that a total lunar eclipse occurs when the position of the sun and earth are parallel. The moon is near the point closest to the earth or it is called perigee.
“Currently there is a total lunar eclipse or also known as the super blood moon. We are conducting direct monitoring from the Dieng plateau, to be precise at the Arjuna Temple complex,” he said to detikcom by telephone, Wednesday (26/5/2021).

It says in monitoring using astronomical telescopes total lunar eclipse This was not seen in the initial phase at 18.09 WIB, and the peak of the eclipse was at 18.18 WIB.
“In the initial and peak phases, the total lunar eclipse is not visible because it is covered by clouds. However, at the end of the phase some of it is clearly visible,” he said.
According to him, the moon looks white because the air in the Dieng plateau is relatively clear. Conversely, the moon will appear red if the air particles around the observation area are polluted.
“It looks white because the air in Dieng is clear, and the air is not polluted. These polluted air particles make the moon look red,” he explained.
Monitoring total lunar eclipse The team from the BMKG Banjarnegara Geophysical Station is still being carried out until the end of the penumbra phase at 20.51 WIB.
