The Forgotten Game: Boiling Point: Road to Hell – Re-release Announcement and Details

In 2004, Ubisoft released the first part of the Far Cry series, which brought a fresh combination of open world and first-person shooter at the time. While the premiere episode of the still popular series probably doesn’t need to be introduced further, let’s go to the event Boiling Point: Road to Hell perhaps most players have already forgotten. At the same time, both titles are very close in their open-world shooter concept. Of this pair, however, only Far Cry was a significant success.

Boiling Point: Road to Hell was released in 2005, i.e. just a year after the mentioned Far Cry 1. Behind the development was the Ukrainian studio Deep Shadows, which had the financial support of Atari. However, despite the modern and still unexpanded concept of its time, the game received rather average marks, mainly due to the unmanaged technical side and optimization, which, combined with unsatisfactory sales, meant the end for the entire brand.

But it was recently announced surprisingly that the game will be re-released in the form of a digital version for PC. The release will be handled by Ziggurat, who apparently managed to acquire the rights from Atari. Release was scheduled for November 14when the game appears on Steam i GOG. Unfortunately, with the exception of support for modern systems, no partial improvements can be expected.
