/ world today news/ On December 11, the member of the Politburo of the CCP Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a telephone conversation with his Iranian colleague Hussein Amir Abdullahiyan.
Abdullahiyan praised Chinese efforts for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza during his tenure as rotating chairman of the UN Security Council. He also thanked China for its contribution to restoring relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Wang Yi said China supports Iran and Saudi Arabia to continue to improve their relations, and thus promote unity and cooperation between countries in the Middle East to become a region of peace and security.
The two ministers exchanged views on the situation in Gaza. Abdullahiyan said that Iran opposes the killing of women and children, supports an immediate ceasefire and the opening of humanitarian aid channels.
