the Forbach vaccination center opens to children aged 5 to 11 from December 29

The Regional Health Agency (ARS) has selected the Forbach anti-Covid vaccination center to welcome children aged 5 to 11 years old. For the moment, three centers in Moselle have been authorized to vaccinate children: Metz, Thionville and Forbach. In all, the department will offer five centers for the reception of 5-11 year olds. In Forbach, rue Thérèse, the Wednesday morning time slots will be exclusively reserved for children under 12.

The first morning of childhood vaccination will take place on December 29. “There are already reservations,” says Isabelle Caillier, director of the Marie-Madeleine hospital in Forbach, which manages the vaccination center. Appointments can be made via Doctolib platform or a telephone number (dial 03 87 88 81 10). Priority will be given to children weakened by other pathologies such as diabetes or severe asthma treated with corticosteroids. Children will receive a dose of Pfizer, a specific vial with an orange cap at a reduced dose appropriate for their age.

Pfizer or Moderna vaccines for over 12s

On other days and on Wednesday afternoons, the Forbach anti-Covid vaccination center operates for those aged 12 and over. For teens and adults, the vaccines injected are Pfizer (for those under 30) and Moderna (for those over 30). “Having received Pfizer in the first and second doses and getting Moderna as a booster is not contraindicated. Mixing these vaccines of the same messenger RNA type offers a better immune response, ”says Isabelle Caillier.
