There is no definitive cure for irritable bowel. However, scientific research has discovered a solution by acting on oligosaccharides, disaccharides, fermentable monosaccharides and polyols.
The first goal is to eliminate swelling and irritation. In a first phase, it is therefore advisable to eliminate all leavened products (bread, pizza, beer). An exception can be made for sourdough bread with sourdough or unleavened bread. If you can’t do without bread, it’s important to at least toast it. Among the foods that are best avoided with irritable colon, the first are: lactose in soft cheeses (mature cheeses and white yogurt allowed) and legumes (chickpeas, peas, lentils, broad beans, beans, soy).
Among the vegetables it is best not to eat: onions, leeks, asparagus, artichokes, rhubarb, spinach and mushrooms. In general, it is best to exclude all those belonging to the brassicaceae, such as Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, cabbage, broccoli and turnip greens. Another good habit is to give up sweeteners, including honey. It is advisable to moderate the consumption of spices, coffee, tea, alcohol, chocolate and dried fruit and avoid all fresh fruit. The only exceptions are: pineapple, citrus fruits (mandarins, tangerines, oranges, lemons), melon, kiwi, grapes, bananas, strawberries, prickly pears and pomegranate.
