Apple has been rumored to have been in the foldable phone race for a while, but early reports suggest it is at least two years away at this point and it may not be an iPhone but an iPad tablet.
Instead of waiting for Apple’s foldable iPhone, the team has arrived Technological aesthetics I decided to go out and build a flip clamshell case from inside the iPhone X and the Motorola Razr 2019 chassis. The resulting device was called the iPhone V and it took nearly a year of hard work, reverse engineering and a lot of trial and error. to complete.
The team behind the project took the iPhone X screen and removed the glass cover and touch layer leaving the OLED flexible. The process isn’t straightforward and requires precise maneuvering, sophisticated machinery, and a total of 37 iPhone X screens before you have a usable screen.
The project also includes a pair of 2019 Motorola Razr that have been taken apart to house the internal components of the iPhone X. The team built a custom motherboard with 3D printed components. Sacrifices were required due to space constraints and the phone ended up with a 1000mAh battery which unfortunately doesn’t support wireless charging or MagSafe.
With the side of the device out of the way, Technological aesthetics The team began tweaking iOS to better suit foldable screens via jailbreak tweaks. The latter device supports split-screen app instances and can use both sides of the folding screen.
