Last week, 70 out of 100,000 people in the Netherlands reported flu-like symptoms to their GP.
There has been an official flu epidemic in the Netherlands for a week now. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) speaks of an epidemic when more than 58 people out of 100,000 go to their doctor with ailments reminiscent of the flu and 10 percent of the samples examined contain the flu virus ‘influence.
According to Nivel, significantly more samples that primary care physicians take from patients with ailments currently contain the flu virus. 98 samples were taken last week, the flu virus (the flu) was found in more than a third.
Corona in RS virus
The corona virus was found slightly more often than in the previous Nivel report, last week. Physicians have also found other viruses, such as the RS virus. That virus has caused a lot of pressure on children’s CIs in recent days. You can see here that it can be very drastic for children:
