The flow of vehicles on the Trans Sumatra toll road increases when the PPKM is relaxed

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The easing of the Policy for the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) has an impact on the traffic flow of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) which is managed by PT Hutama Karya (Persero).

EVP Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said, Hutama Karya recorded the Average Daily Traffic (LHR) in the JTTS increased by 13.40% in September 2021 when compared to the LHR in July 2021 or when the blockage was determined in the JTTS.

“In July 2021, LHR JTTS recorded as many as 87,135 vehicles, while in September 2021 it reached 98,810 vehicles,” said Tjahjo, Tuesday (5/10) night.

In the future, he hopes that with the reduction in the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia and the easing of PPKM rules, the LHR in JTTS will return to normal and increase in a sustainable manner.

Basically, Hutama Karya as the manager of JTTS continues to be committed to providing the best service by improving the facilities and services on the managed toll roads. Hutama Karya also continues to carry out routine maintenance for the convenience and safety of road users.

“We are optimistic that the LHR for the JTTS will increase in the future following the continued increase in the number of sections in the JTTS, so that it will have an impact on increasing the LHR for all sections on the route,” he concluded.

For information, Hutama Karya is still in the process of completing some of the JTTS projects. Overall, the JTTS will consist of 24 different road sections with a total length of 2,704 kilometers and will be fully operational in 2024.
