The movie “Hirttämäimit” did not please the critics or the viewers.
Starred by Aku Hirviniemi Unhangable drops November 6th on Netflix. It is a new version of Pertti “Spede” Pasanen and Vesa-Matti Loir‘s classic film released in 2023.
Soon after its release, the film began to receive crushing reviews. For example, Episodin Jussi Huhtalan in the evaluation, the film was called the worst film of the millennium. Reviews from other media also followed the same line.
The film received only 1,309 viewers in Finland during its premiere week.
Iltalehti interviewed the film’s director Andrei Alén in May 2023 about the poor reception from critics and low viewership numbers.
– It felt bad, Alén commented to Iltalehte with few words.
– Many viewers have said that they laughed, and we have received a lot of happy feedback about the film, he continued to the question of whether he disagrees with the critics.
