The Flash: The next season of the series will be the last | Entertainment

There is still no indication of any connection to the Ezra Miller movie.

It’s official that the season 9 of The Flash It will be the last in the series starring Grant Gustin. Rumors about it began in January 2022, when the actor signed a contract for just one more year.

“Nine seasons! It’s been 9 years of saving Central City,” said Eric Wallace, Executive Producer of The Flash, through a statement. “And now Barry Allen is nearing the start of his last race.”he added regarding the character of Grant Gustin.

The last season of The Flash will be released in 2023 and will consist of 13 chapters, meaning his finale will air on the CW just a few weeks before the movie in which Ezra Miller plays the character arrives.

In addition, the end of the series represents a great loss for the Arrowverse, which is also about to say goodbye to productions like Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman y Naomi. This would place Superman & Lois and maybe, Gotham Knights as the only ones of DC characters that would return to the small screen beyond 2023.

Unfortunately, although the Disney+ series and Marvel movies are part of the MCU, this is not the case with the DC Extended Universe. Considering that there is no crossover between the DCEU and Warner Bros. shows so far, probably we will no longer see Grant Gustin as The Flash and the series finale will have no repercussions on the movie starring Ezra Miller.

However, if we take into account that the controversial Miller did have a small part in Arrow, we can continue to hope that a connection is built between the series and the DCEU. Or will the plan be to bury the Arrowverse to concentrate efforts on the cinema?

Recall that Grant Gustin has been one of the fan favorites to replace Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash after his legal problems. After all, the actor has played the superhero practically since Miller was chosen to bring him to life in the DCEU.
