42,556 doses were administered on Wednesday, November 17, throughout Guatemala. The majority of people went to the centers to complete the immunization schedule (27,530), while a minor received the first dose (15,026).
Despite the previous figures, some municipalities only registered a first and a second dose administered throughout the day. The five jurisdictions belong to the interior of the country and in previous days they also presented a similar behavior.
THE LESS FAVORED MUNICIPALITIES
According to the data from the COVID-19 Dashboard, the municipalities that vaccinated only one citizen with the first vaccine and another with the complete scheme were:
– El Estor, Izabal
– Esquipulas Palo Gordo, San Marcos
– Palestine of Los Altos, Quetzaltenango
– San Benito, Petén
– San José La Arada, Chiquimula.
In addition, the Ministry of Health tool stated that on November 17, 30 municipalities only managed to administer a first dose; another seven failed to complete any vaccination schedule.
THE MOST FAVORED
On the other hand, the municipalities with the highest proportion of first doses were:
– Santa Ana, Petén: 1.5% with 263 first doses
– San Antonio Ilotenango, Quiché: 0.8% with 160 first doses
– San Mateo, Quetzaltenango: 0.8% with 54 first doses.
And the municipalities with the highest proportion of complete schemes were:
– San Miguel Dueñas, Sacatepéquez: 1.7% in 203 second doses
– Pachalum, Quiché: 1.5% in 108 second doses
– Santo Domingo Xenacoj, Sacatepéquez: 1.3% in 149 complete schemes
OTHER INDICATORS
– The most administered vaccine that day was AstraZeneca with 17,886 doses used.
– The population group with the most doses administered on the day was 18 to 29 years old with 5,002 first doses and 12,828 second doses.
– More women than men attended the vaccination centers on the day: 24,477 women and 18,079 men.
– Until the last update, the country has administered 9,353,918 vaccines; 29.38% of the population aspiring to the vaccine already has the complete immunization schedule.
