The first Wendy Adams, actress Lisa Loring, has passed away

Loring’s daughter, Vanessa Fomberg, confirmed to Variety that her mother died of a stroke on Saturday.

“She passed away peacefully with both daughters holding her hand,” Fomberg said in a statement. Laurie Jacobson, a friend of the actress, reporting her death on the social network “Facebook”, stated that Loring “suffered a severe stroke caused by smoking and high blood pressure”.

“She was on life support for three days. Yesterday her family made the difficult decision to take it off and she passed away last night,” Jacobson wrote Sunday. “Her name is woven into the vast fabric of pop culture, and in our hearts she will always remain as Wendy Adams.”

Fans of the actress also expressed their condolences, for example on the social platform “Twitter”: “Farewell to Lisa Loring, who defined the character of Wendy Adams at a time when she was only known as a drawing in a weekly magazine comic.”

Loring began portraying the pale, expressively braided girl in 1964 at the age of six and played the death-obsessed character until the end of the series two years later.

In 1977, she appeared as Wendy Sr. in the television movie Halloween with the Young Addams Family (Halloween with the New Addams Family).
