The tape is a free retelling of the fate of the American writer Shirley Jackson performed by Elizabeth Moss. The film has already been shown at the Sundance Festival and at the Berlinale.
According to the plot, Shirley lives in the status of a recognized classic of literature, but does not leave the house where she suffers from alcoholism and depression. The adored husband, whom everyone around loves, destroys her self-confidence, including regular cheating.
At the same time, a young couple appears on the campus – a future professor with a pregnant wife who are full of hope and illusion. The relationship of the newly arrived girl and Shirley herself goes a difficult way from hatred to love and complete dissolution in each other.
The director of the film is actress Josephine Decker, who tries herself in directing thrillers and explores the female psyche.
It was previously reported that Disney is likely to restart the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The main role, however, will not be called charming Johnny Depp, and the actress Karen Gillan.
