The first stone of the future parking lot of the Chartres station has been laid

On Wednesday 10 November, the mayor of Chartres, Jean-Pierre Gorges, and the general manager of Q-Park France, Michèle Salvadoretti, laid the first stone of what will be, in November 2022, the new Q-Park parking lot at the station hub .

Located behind the railway line, the 14,000 m2 structure, built on two floors and semi-underground, will provide 1,086 additional parking spaces to the city.

“Above all, it will allow travelers to promote soft transport and intermodality by leaving their cars in the parking lot. “

The cost of the station pole car park amounts to 24 million euros. “It will be managed by seven people,” explains Michèle Salvadoretti.

In Chartres, the parking lot of the Pôle gare is emerging from the ground

“In total, with this new car park, the city of Chartres and Q-Park offer 3,680 parking spaces. Thus, every day, our structures make life easier for Chartrains and save them time. “

A Chartres-style car park

The car park will have 55 spaces with charging stations for electric vehicles, 22 for people with reduced mobility and 49 for two-wheelers. The mayor of Chartres concludes:

“This is a new element that will allow the station pole to be developed even more and access to the future sports complex in Mainvilliers. In addition, the exterior of the car park will perfectly match the specialty of Chartres since it will be covered with colored stained glass windows, reminiscent of those of the cathedral which dominates our city. “
