On Wednesday 10 November, the mayor of Chartres, Jean-Pierre Gorges, and the general manager of Q-Park France, Michèle Salvadoretti, laid the first stone of what will be, in November 2022, the new Q-Park parking lot at the station hub .
Located behind the railway line, the 14,000 m2 structure, built on two floors and semi-underground, will provide 1,086 additional parking spaces to the city.

The car park will have 55 spaces with charging stations for electric vehicles, 22 for people with reduced mobility and 49 for two-wheelers. The mayor of Chartres concludes:
“This is a new element that will allow the station pole to be developed even more and access to the future sports complex in Mainvilliers. In addition, the exterior of the car park will perfectly match the specialty of Chartres since it will be covered with colored stained glass windows, reminiscent of those of the cathedral which dominates our city. “
