According to CNN, Prouz died after a brief battle with the disease. Two years ago, it was reported that the actor had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

As his former agent, Thomas Bowington, put it, the actor was famous for portraying various monsters, but to everyone who knew him, he was a hero. “May the power be with him, always,” Bovingtons writes, referring to the legendary Darth Weider phrase.

Prouze portrayed Darth Weyer in the first three Star Wars films (1977, 1980 and 1983), but the voice was spoken by actor James Earl Jones, as Prouz’s British accent was not considered appropriate for the role.

In the UK, the actor was also known as the face of the Green Cross Code Man campaign. The road and pedestrian safety campaign began in the 1970s and Prouzs took part in it for 14 years.

David Prouz has also starred in films such as The Horror of Frankenstein (1970) and Carry on Henry (1971). The actor also appears in an episodic role in Stanley Kubrick’s cult film “A Clockwork Orange” (“Mechanical Orange”, 1971).

In addition to acting, his passion was bodybuilding. He has received several awards in this field. He was also awarded the British Weightlifting Champion in the 1960s. Thanks to bodybuilding, the role of Dart Weider was in close friends with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Prouz also worked as a personal trainer for other actors.

The actor wrote the book “Fitness is Fun”, but in 2011 his autobiography “Straight from the Force’s Mouth” was published.
