The first sod of the Bulgarian electric car factory will be in July

This is what the future electric car plant will look like

Before Easter, they announce a new large investor in our country, which produces automotive components

The first sod of the plant for Bulgarian electric cars “Next.e Go Bulgaria” is planned for July. On Thursday, the company received a construction visa from the Lovech municipality and is due to apply for a building permit, which it is expected to receive in mid-May.

This was told to 24 Chasa by the executive director of Next.e Go Bulgaria and chairman of Automotive Cluster Bulgaria Lyubomir Stanislavov. “In parallel, we will hold tenders for the main contractor of the project. Symbolically, the first sod will probably be in July – one year after we announced the project, “he added.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Economy and Industry also certified the Balkan Industrial Park, on the territory of which the plant will be located.

There is already another project in an advanced phase to be implemented in the same industrial park – a photovoltaic park with a size of about 100 megawatts. It will have a huge substation and

which are expected to be from the automotive sector.

As “24 Chasa” wrote, “Next.e Go Bulgaria” will have its own photovoltaics – solar panels on the roof, which will make it the first completely carbon neutral in Europe.

These two investments alone will total more than 250m euros. The amount of the investment of Next.e Go Bulgaria will be over BGN 280 million, and of the photovoltaic park – about BGN 200 million. Another 500 decares remain vacant in the Balkan Industrial Park, which will have a total area 1400 decares.

The industrial zone is being built around the site of the Balkan plant in Lovech, where the electric car factory will be located.

In its wide part it will be 350 meters, and in the short part – 250 meters. There is a logistics area, special fuel tanks, car wash, test track, parking for new cars (See illustration)

The site of the plant is owned by the brothers Kiril and Georgi Domuschievi, who hold 49.998% of Next.e.Go Bulgaria. The remaining 50.002% of the company are the German Next.e.Go Mobile.

The ambition of the manufacturers is that as many parts of the car as possible will be produced in Bulgaria, including the most important aluminum components. It is

In August, the plant near Lovech also received a Class A investment certificate from then-Economy Minister and current Prime Minister Kiril Petkov. The announced amount of the project was BGN 280 million, but in fact it is much larger.

A new large investor, which produces automotive components, will soon come to Bulgaria, Stanislavov revealed. According to him, the investment will be announced before Easter, and the plant will be located in Northwestern Bulgaria. This is a large European company with many factories, whose project in Bulgaria will be a priority.
