New York woke up this morning wrapped in a white coat. The first snow of winter has finally fallen on the city. From the middle of the night, the snow plows broom set the pace, followed by the shovels of building workers.

First snowstorm in New York
The weather alert went into effect yesterday at 7 p.m. and will last until noon this Friday, January 7. No less than 330,000 tons of salt have been prepared to face the first snowstorm of the year as more than 700 salt spreaders are deployed on the streets of New York. No less than six inches of snow fell overnight.
The New York State Department of Health has announced that the state vaccination and testing sites in New York and Long Island will only open at noon this Friday, due to dangerous weather forecast.

Schools remain open
If the children are happy with snow, they will indeed be heading to school this morning. “Staff and student delays due to the weather will be excused“the New York Department of Eductaion announced early this morning.
In a morning press conference, the new city councilor reiterated the importance of bringing students back to classrooms by saying that it is crucial to make up for lost time during the pandemic. “Children must go to schoolMayor Adams said.We have no more days to lose and the long term impact of leaving our children at home will affect us for years to come. I will not contribute to it.“
If the spectacle is magical in Central Park, it is already much less so in the main arteries of the city.
