We waited a long time for it, on the third weekend in January 2021 it was finally there: the snow! A state of aggregation in which rain rarely shows up here in Cologne. Yes, some people in Cologne had already given up their belief in snow and stormed – against their better judgment – to Winterberg and Co.
But at the weekend the frosty cloak of silence finally fell over the anger at all the snow tourists, because we finally had it here with us, this much sought-after snow. Admittedly, it was a short interlude and if you really wanted to see it trickle in all its glory, you had to go for a walk through the city in the middle of the night – or more precisely: late on Saturday evening. On Sunday, the powdery layer of snow turned into gray mud in many places.
What luck that there were still enough people from Cologne who were there in time to capture the first (and hopefully not last) snow fun of the year for us in pictures. We have selected a few of the most beautiful snapshots and hope for a comeback soon.
