The first “real” centipede discovered in Australia with 1306 members – Liberation

While no scientist had managed to observe a centipede with more than 750 legs, a team of American researchers discovered a species with 1306 appendages.–

It may sound surprising, but so far no one has seen a “real” centipede. But thanks to a group of researchers led by Paul E. Marek of the Department of Entomology at the University of Arizona in the United States, it’s done. American scientists have set their foot on the record holder for centipedes with not 1000, but 1306 legs. The name of this extraordinary myriapod, the Persephone eumilipes.
