The first racket of Russia Daria Kasatkina (8th seed) lost to compatriot Varvara Gracheva in the third round of the WTA-1000 tournament in Indian Wells. The match ended with the score 6:4, 6:4.
Tennis players spent 1 hour 39 minutes on the court. Gracheva did not make a single serve right through, did not make double faults and converted six of the nine break points she earned. Kasatkina also has no aces, three double faults and four realized break points out of five.

For Gracheva, this is the second consecutive victory over Kasatkina. Earlier this year, she was stronger in the first round of the Australian Open (6:1, 6:1). In total, tennis players played each other three times.
In the 1/8 finals, Gracheva, who does not have a seeding number, will play with a native of Moscow, Elena Rybakina (seeded number 10), who in 2018 changed her Russian citizenship to Kazakhstani.
