Toyota is slowly unveiling the new generation of the Crown model, while the first examples perfectly match the older leaks from the patent office.

Some time ago, the Toyota car company published the first sample of the new model called Crown, which we should expect to see the premiere on July 15. At the same time, the image, which was pointed out by the website CreativeTrend, perfectly matches the recently discovered patent images.
But let’s start with the officially published image, which, in addition to the 15.7 date, the new crown logo and the Discover Your Crown inscription, offers a side view of the hood and front doors of the new car. At the same time, the design language and the design of the crown perfectly correspond to Toyota’s patent images that became public a few weeks ago.

At first, only the previously mentioned crown logo on the hood indicated that the previously unknown model, which the automaker had patented, belonged to the Crown model line. But now there is no doubt that it is really a new Toyota Crown, which will not only get a new logo, but also a completely new design.
The Crown designation, one of the oldest in the brand’s range, was used by Toyota in the past for classic sedans. But with their gradual decline, Toyota began to experiment with other body versions. Some time ago we could already see the Crown SUV for the Chinese market, while the novelty that you can see in the gallery looks like a strange cross between an SUV, a sedan and a coupe.
Again, it will be a four-door car, but instead of a luxurious three-compartment body, it is betting on dynamic and flowing shapes. The front is impressive with low headlights and a distinctive radiator grille, the windshield is significantly beveled and the slowly descending roof is more reminiscent of the style of four-door coupes.

In addition, in the patent images we see a relatively high chassis with plasticized edges, which would indicate the automaker’s effort to create a special crossover that combines the features of SUVs and sedans. In a way, the concept of the body is close to the recently introduced Peugeot 408, which the French automaker presented as an unusual fastback. Perhaps we are watching the birth of a new body style that will try to change trends.
But let’s return to the new product from the Toyota stable, which, according to sources from Japanese colleagues, should be built on the TNGA-K platform, should be available with hybrid and purely electric powertrains, and could drive both only the front wheels and all wheels. However, we will probably not get more information until July 15.
