The first planetarium of Aquitania will open in Talence | News

Lunar, and already spectacular… First of its kind in the region (except that of Poitiers at the Espace Mendès France), a planetarium will see the light of day in Talence in 2026.

A future cultural, scientific and educational complex

Questioned by our editorial staff, Emmanuel Sallaberry, Mayor of Talence, specifies that the idea of ​​the Planetarium “navigates the scientific and spatial culture of the city of Talence”. This important cultural policy project, will be installed near the Forum. Scientific instrument for family and educational purposes will be able to accommodate 80 people. This represents, on average, 2 classes.

Open to all, and aimed mainly at families and enthusiasts, the Talence Planetarium will be a unique opportunity to alearn about the planets and stars, the origin of life, comets and everything in the sky. Also, an entire section on the global warming and ocean conservation it is planned.

Spectacular equipment worth 4.5 million euros

The educational space will offer a real scientific journey with new experiments. Joint programs are also underway with Cap Sciences. Not forgetting the Gironde Observatories (that of the right bank or even Martignas-sur-Jalle), like large astronomical structures, with which fun activities can be imagined.

The total cost of the project is 4.5 million euros. Even before concrete, this large structure already aims to do so rreign over Talence and the metropolis. Would you have the ambition to touch the stars?
