the first pilot batch should be released by the end of the year

The 1990s were a difficult time for our country. But even then, only the elected first President of sovereign Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, showed himself to be a strategist: he understood that he should not limit himself to resolving current issues, he needed to think about the future. Thus, on January 12, 1996, the head of state signed decrees establishing two special Presidential funds – to support talented and gifted youth. In the new project “My destiny is in the history of the country”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the institution of presidency, we will talk about scholarship holders and laureates of special funds. Thanks to the fact that at one time the state supported them at the start, they became unique specialists, prominent scientists, politicians and famous artists.

By the age of 30, Anton Ananchikov is already a candidate of technical sciences, heading the laboratory of electrohydraulic systems at one of the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. He is also the owner of seven patents for inventions and twice a scholarship recipient of the special Presidential Fund for the support of talented youth. We asked the scientist about significant projects for the country and his participation in their development.

“We created a device no worse than the best foreign analogue”

The head of the laboratory of electro-hydraulic systems of the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Candidate of Technical Sciences Anton Ananchikov, is from the Rogachevsky district – the agricultural town of Luchin.

Our hero came to science at the end of the 3rd year at BSUIR. So his further enrollment in graduate school after graduation seemed like a completely logical step. Having chosen the specialization “mechanical science, drive systems and machine parts,” the graduate student began working on his candidate’s thesis on the topic “Formation of the functional characteristics of a hydraulic drive of an attachment with an electrically controlled regulator.” In 2019, Anton Ananchikov was awarded the first scholarship from a special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for his passion and positive results on an issue that is important for the domestic mechanical engineering.

– This event became an incentive for me to move forward. I always knew that the head of state pays great attention to the technical development of the agricultural sector and the revival of the Belarusian village! – the young scientist admits and clarifies that the graduate student was convinced of the relevance of this topic by his supervisor Evgeniy Strok, who previously headed the laboratory of electrohydraulic systems. Then he was replaced in this post by Anton Ananchikov.

According to the fellow, when his curator saw at one of the exhibitions a mounted device for Bosch tractors, capable of plowing the ground with high depth accuracy, he realized that Belarusian scientists were capable of creating such equipment. He shared this idea with his graduate student.

– He convinced me how important it is for the Belarusian industry to develop a domestic analogue of an imported unit. As a result, we have created a functionality for controlling an attachment that is no worse than the best foreign analogue,” Anton says proudly and lists the main advantages of development with an electrically controlled controller: “The machine operator operating the tractor sets the necessary parameters, and the system independently sets the plows to the required plowing depth.

The electro-hydraulic device is already used in the production of a number of models of the Minsk Tractor Plant. Every year the company produces about 1.5-2 thousand units of equipment equipped with this system.
In addition, the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant became interested in the functionality of the Belarusian development. The system passed the test, once again confirming the importance and necessity of this unit, which helps increase field productivity.

By the way, similar systems are used in other power equipment. For example, the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering implemented a similar joint project with Amkodor OJSC. Scientists from the laboratory, headed by Anton Ananchikov, have developed a method for testing the hydraulic part of excavators. Also during the tests, the performance characteristics of the devices were taken.

– If our laboratory is a classic scientific department that designs and develops algorithms, providing scientific support for production, then the implementation of a modern attachment is the work of teams of three Belarusian enterprises: the Minsk Unitary Enterprise “Break Hydrolics”, the Novopolotsk plant “Izmeritel” and the holding company “Saleo” , – the interlocutor emphasizes and notes that in this way science and production in our country go hand in hand.

“The future of the domestic auto industry lies in electric vehicles”

The Belarusian electric car is another significant project for the country, which is under the constant control of President Alexander Lukashenko. By the end of the year, the first pilot batch of five units should be released.

The Institute of Mechanical Engineering, in particular Candidate of Technical Sciences Anton Ananchikov, is actively involved in the creation of a domestic electric car.

– I am sure that the future of the domestic automobile industry lies in electric vehicles. In this project, I was involved in modeling the operation of lithium-ion batteries. During development, using a mathematical model, we tested the balancing of batteries, which should serve as efficiently and as long as possible,” he explains.

Applied science brings great benefits to the real sector of the country’s economy. This is a considerable merit of the young scientist Anton Ananchikov. And this fact was again assessed at the state level. This year our hero was awarded a scholarship from the President’s Special Fund.

When our electric cars drive on the country’s roads, their owners will definitely say thank you to Belarusian scientists who are actively changing people’s lives for the better.

“You can be interested in one thing, but be interested in many”

Plunging headlong into science, Anton Ananchikov is interested in the history of his small homeland. The first mention of the agricultural town of Luchin, which is located on the banks of the Dnieper, where the legendary route from the Varangians to the Greeks once passed, dates back to 1136.

“One of the chronicles says that the inhabitants of Luchin paid tribute to the Smolensk princes with black caviar,” the interlocutor says and clarifies: “Previously, sterlet ascended the Dnieper to spawn, but after the appearance of a cascade of power plants in the river, only single specimens of this type of fish are found.

Anton, like his fellow countrymen, follows with great interest the excavations of ancient mounds near his native village. Not long ago, archaeologists found women’s glass jewelry there. By the way, he admits with a smile: if not for his interest in the exact sciences, he could well have become a historian or archaeologist.

– You can do one thing you love and at the same time be interested in many other areas, including applied science, which is very important for various fields, in particular agriculture. Moreover, crop production and livestock farming are the basis of activity for the population of the agricultural town of Luchin,” he notes. – Farming is gaining more and more popularity today. For example, in recent years my parents have significantly expanded their farm, increasing the number of livestock: they keep cows, geese, and ducks. We purchased two tractors for work on our own plot.
